Find My Ancestry

A pioneer. A minister. A farmer. A horse thief. A soldier. A president.

From Massachusetts to Kansas to California. From Ireland to Denmark to Canada. From Australia to Germany to Mexico.

Our family heritage lies in these people, in these places, in their history in our world. They were people of guts and determination, of frailties and dreams. And they belong to us as much as we belong to them. This is why we search for our ancestors. This is why we explore their lives, why we document for future generations who they were, where they lived, and why things happened to them - good and bad. For in that connection lies our identities, the very core of our values and our strengths.

Their stories are colorful, poignant, mysterious, and tragic. They are adventurous and humdrum, dependable and risky. They encompass the realities of historical events -- the American Revolution, the Potato Famine, the expansion west, the Civil War, and the world wars. As our knowledge grows, so does our understanding of the part our family played in those events, whether minuscule or mammoth.

Today, we are launching our family ancestry blog. With each entry, we hope to educate, challenge, and entertain you. We hope you'll search your memories of people and events and add them to our own. We'll show the hows of our searches, the whys of our logic, and the depth of our research. We'll share the rumors as well as the facts. We'll interview our old-timers for perspective and knowledge. We'll document current events as they affect our family for later generations. We'll explore our history and put our family into context with the world. Because our connection -- me to you, you to her, her to him, him to me -- is vivid and strong in these memories. To learn these secrets is to keep that connection alive.

Join us, won't you?
